.....Plastic bags can take up to and above 100 years to break down in a land-fill site. Dog poo takes up to a week to breakdown. For years we have been using a standard PVC bag to carry our pets waste in to bin it and forget it.  Ask yourself does that add up??

What happens from there?

Usually plastic poo bags end up in some sort of landfill. Once there the poo bag gets buried along with its contents and sits quite happily for many, many numbers of years. There are some biodegradable bags that claim to break down but even some of these need light and heat. Once buried the chance of light getting through to the biodegradable bag is very slim.

Some of you may know that any sort of organic matter placed in a plastic bag starts to ferment and sweat. With many councils now changing frequency of wheelie bin collections and some NOT allowing any sort of dog waste to be put in the bin whatsoever this can cause a problem both hygienically and socially.

Doggybog Bags are made from PVA/PVOH  polyvinyl alcohol  which is a water soluble film (very similar to the capsules used in liquid washing tablets). Once immersed in water the bag starts to break down and release the contents (the same idea is used by fishermen world-wide for baiting fish) the bag and waste are then sent down to your local sewage plant for processing. Great fot the environment all round.
